Summer 2015

Wow! What a spring and summer it’s been! I find out that I wont have a regular job after summer, I participate in an exhibition, I start up my Etsy-shop, we travel to England, we visit my mother in Gothenburg and I decide to participate in a market. The much needed vacation turned out more hectic than I thought at first. Let’s show some photos. :)shadow boxThis is the shadow box I participated with in an exhibition at a museum with a couple of hundred other crafters and artists. Great fun, and lots of amazing and fantastic works. Much inspiration. With my box I wanted to make something like out of a story. It has given me lots of further ideas I’d like to try.tackFor my closest co-workers I wanted to give each a little something before the vacation (and before my employment ended), as a thank you for all the support they have given me during my time with them. It ended up as three bug-in-a-boxes, each looking different from the other.minecon2015_panelThen for the BIG event this summer, at least for this family. Minecon 2015 in London! Together with 10 000 gamers from all over the world we got together for two days to indulge in everything Minecraft. We had a blast during some of the hottest days in London this year I think.

Loved the giant iron golems they had created!irongolem

We also took a trip to Tunbridge Wells, south of London, to visit my sister and brother-in-law. First time in Tunbridge, and first time in their itty-bitty house. Pretty town, and they are always great to spend time with… even if they don’t like being photographed. 😛tunbridgeWhen coming back home it was just for me to start producing things to sell on the Crafty Älmhult Market. I hade some things, but they were already listed in my Etsy shop, so I had to make new things. Lot of gluing and painting. I had brought all the stuff to our summer house, so I could sit a couple of hours every day. Finally I had a pretty little stash that I felt could be enough. I made houses, both sizes, and a couple of bug-in-a-box.houses_base

bugsinboxesI also started a 100 day project, but I realise now that I’m not doing it quite as it says on their homepage… and I definitely haven’t been able to keep it to one per day (insert slightly embarrassed emote here…). But I’m still at it, and almost caught up. I’ll start posting them to my IG feed this week. I made a small notebook of sorts, about A6 size, and doing a collage every day. For me it’s a great exercise in not over thinking it, and to actually finish a project I’ve started just for fun. I will finish this project!100dayprojectSpending time at our summer house is fantastic, especially if the weather allows us to be outdoors pretty much of the day. Lazy days, in between, my hectic production. LOLfoxglove

We also made a trip to Gothenburg to visit my mother and to meet up with my other sister and her family. They also live in England (what’s up with that anyway!? :P), so a couple of days goofing around with cousins and winning the jackpot at one of the chocolate wheels! So his new lucky number is 12… can you blame him?goofy

And to finish the summer vacation it was finally time for Crafty Älmhult Market! I had the chance to meet other crafters and artists, some were very experienced and others, like me, was doing this market thing for the first time. I had a great time! I sold one of my bugs, and considering that none of the sellers were selling much, I think that was pretty good.craftymarket2

craftymarket1So… now what ..? I’ve got a lot of ideas, right now all seem possible. I’ll work on my Etsy shop, update shop policies, list more items and a lot that might not be visible at once, but hopefully will help future buyers. Talk about that, I’ve had my first buyer!! Yay!! Two items sold, and  it feel great!

… we don’t have to mention that it was a relative to me. It’s got to start somewhere right!?

This was a sort of quick, and maybe slightly muddled, summary of our summer.
Bring on the autumn and new adventures.

Love,
Josefina
